Pam Walker

For as long as I can remember I have always enjoyed being creative. This internal push to create has given me an appreciation for self exploration, beauty in any form, patience, and a love for the arts. Throughout the years I have received many numerous rewards which range from the joy of a completing a difficult piece to both solo and group gallery exhibits. In the end, I believe, this creative and explorative journey has become about the freedom to create, the freedom of expression, the freedom to be different and thereby the freedom to be myself.

Over the years my interests, styles, techniques, and materials have varied from the bland to the bizarre and back again. However, my primary interest has remained the same - Photography. Photography, for me, has become a way of seeing. I try to challenge myself to take the average and the everyday items or circumstances and place them into a different context: to find beauty in the mundane, to make art out of the ordinary, to make a visual statement!

In order to further explore the arts and photography I entered the Fine Arts Program at the Grande Prairie Regional College where I graduated with Distinction in 2004. From 2008 to 2010 I took a brief hiatus but I am now back doing what I love and what captures my heart.
